Embeddable multi-depth sensor (Chloride probe) consists of at least six
discrete carbon steel elements as the anode and a cathode of mixed metal
oxide of an inert metal such as titanium. The sensor will be installed
within the concrete cover zone and first layer of reinforcement to monitor
the ingress of aggressive chloride ions.
Corrosion rate probe consists of a silver / silver chloride reference electrode and a carbon auxiliary electrode. The probe shall be installed at selected reinforcement bar. The probe shall be designed to enable the polarization resistance readings be taken by potentiostatic polarization resistance measuring device. Based on the measured readings, the corrosion current density can be calculated to estimate the corrosion penetration rate of the reinforcement.
